Watermelon Tourmaline rosecut ring
Beautiful & juicy; This lovely vibrant Tourmaline has been set in fine silver with a hand forged silver band. The nature of forged bands is they have such a beautiful organic feel and look to them.
The rosecutting to the top of the stone acts like a facet and reflects the light making it super sparkly
The forged process starts by melting silver in a crucible and the pouring into a mould to create an ingot. Then the ingot is hammered on steel to create the desired shape. This process takes a while as while hammering the silver gets hard and needs to be constantly annealed. Once this stage is finished I am left with a beautifully textured sheet of silver to form a band.
